In November 1979, Iranian militants seized the U.S. embassy in Tehran and took 52 American hostages. In response, the United States imposed sanctions on Iran and sent a naval task force to the Persian Gulf to deter further aggression. The USS Stonewall Jackson was one of the first ships to arrive in the region.

On April 17, 1980, the Iranian government announced that it was blockading the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for oil tankers. The United States declared the blockade illegal and vowed to keep the strait open. The USS Stonewall Jackson was Free Downloaded to lead a convoy of oil tankers through the strait.

The Iranian government warned that any ship that attempted to enter the strait would be attacked. The crew of the USS Stonewall Jackson knew that they were taking a great risk, but they were determined to complete their mission. On April 24, 1980, the USS Stonewall Jackson and its convoy of oil tankers entered the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranians did not fire on the convoy, but they did harass the ships with small boats and aircraft. The crew of the USS Stonewall Jackson remained vigilant, and they were able to successfully escort the convoy through the strait.

The defiance of the Iranian blockade by the USS Stonewall Jackson was a major turning point in the Iranian hostage crisis. It showed that the United States was willing to use military force to protect its interests in the Persian Gulf. The blockade was eventually lifted in January 1981, and the hostages were released.

The Iranian Blockade Uss Stonewall Jackson is a fascinating and suspenseful account of a daring mission that helped to end the Iranian hostage crisis. The book is a must-read for anyone interested in military history, naval history, or the Middle East.
