Abstract

This article introduces and explores the Indirect Adaptive Approach (IAA) to regime change. The IAA is a non-violent, strategic approach that seeks to undermine authoritarian regimes and promote political transformation by targeting the regime's legitimacy and support base. Through a combination of mass mobilization, strategic communication, and network building, the IAA aims to create a conducive environment for societal change.

Regime change has long been a contentious issue in international relations, often characterized by violent interventions and unsuccessful outcomes. The Indirect Adaptive Approach offers a novel and more effective alternative to these traditional methods. By focusing on the regime's legitimacy and support base, the IAA seeks to create conditions that make it more difficult for the regime to maintain power.

Principles of the Indirect Adaptive Approach

The IAA is based on several key principles:

• Non-Violent Resistance: The IAA emphasizes peaceful and non-confrontational tactics to avoid triggering violent repression by the regime.
• Strategic Communication: The IAA utilizes strategic communication to expose the regime's weaknesses, undermine its credibility, and mobilize support for change.
